Built on a background in precision sensing

Independent Innovations brings experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, with a particular focus on precision sensing, embedded electronics, and instrumentation. That background — working in environments where measurement traceability and calibration rigour are requirements rather than differentiators — directly informs how Rejuvulite is designed and characterized.

Early exploratory work on compact light-based devices began more than a decade ago. That work identified the measurement gap at the centre of the consumer red and near-infrared light therapy market: devices are routinely specified using electrical power figures that bear little relationship to the optical dose delivered at the treatment surface. Rejuvulite was developed to address that gap directly.

Measurement first

Calibrated output, not estimated values

Every unit is individually measured with a NIST-traceable optical power meter before shipment. Published irradiance figures reflect actual measured output — not nominal specifications shared across a production run.

Contact geometry

Reproducible dose delivery by design

Near-contact operation eliminates the distance variable that makes panel-based systems difficult to use consistently. Fixed geometry means measured irradiance translates directly to predictable dose.

Session validation

Contact quality measured, not assumed

An ambient-nulling reflected optical measurement confirms consistent device placement throughout each session. Contact quality is logged with every session — not inferred from user compliance after the fact.

Transparency

Published data, documented tradeoffs

Measured performance data, electrical reconciliation, and system architecture decisions are documented publicly. The Engineering Notes log design iterations and the reasoning behind them.

Small batches. Direct traceability. Iteration speed.

Prototypes are built and evaluated in small batches, with enclosure components produced through additive manufacturing and electronics assembled and tested individually. This approach prioritizes iteration speed and direct traceability over cosmetic uniformity.

Minor visual variation between units reflects the fabrication process, not a deviation from specification. Each unit is individually calibrated — the calibration record, not the enclosure finish, is the quality document.

Engineering decisions, measurement data, and design tradeoffs are documented in the Engineering Notes. The intent is to communicate how the hardware actually behaves — not to make claims about outcomes that the measurements don’t support.
