Dosing
Understanding how light energy is measured helps explain why Rejuvulite was designed the way it is.
Light dosage in research is typically expressed in two related ways:
- Intensity (irradiance): power delivered per unit area, in milliwatts per square centimeter (mW/cm²).
- Energy (fluence): total energy over time, in joules per square centimeter (J/cm²).
Rejuvulite’s latest generation emits an average optical power of approximately 1.6 W, depending slightly on battery voltage and spectrum (red or blue). The light is distributed over a 13.75 cm² lens area, resulting in an average intensity of about 116 mW/cm². At this intensity, a one-minute session delivers approximately 7.0 J/cm² (about 96 J total over the illuminated area). Each standard two-minute cycle therefore provides roughly 14 J/cm² (about 192 J total).
Rejuvulite uses 660 nm red and 450 nm blue LEDs selected for spectral precision and power efficiency. These wavelengths are widely reported in studies exploring biological responses to light exposure.
